Various types of addiction treatment programs offer help in drug rehabilitation, including: residential treatment (in-patient), out-patient, medical drug and alcohol detox centers, local support groups, extended care centers, recovery or sober houses, addiction counselling, mental health, and medical care. Some rehab centers offer age- and gender-specific programs.
In a survey of treatment providers from three separate institutions (the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors, Rational Recovery Systems and the Society of Psychologists in Addictive Behaviors) rehab patients who were quickly engulfed into a hobby or some sort of fun activity were 3 times more likely to maintain long-term sobriety than those who didn’t prioritize personal pleasure time.
We believe that when drugs and alcohol are subtracted from the situation, there is a gap left that needs to be filled with thing like service to others, a feeling of connection to others, physical activity outside, group activities outdoors or indoors, hobbies and also setting goals to accomplish and engage in new tasks and activities. Traditional drug rehab centers typically put off many of these activities to prioritize rest and education but the problem is that as alcoholics we need to delve into balance right away as going from one extreme (the fast life) into the other extreme (boring drug abuse education) we’re left with a picture of recovery as very dry and boring. When alcoholics/addicts stay clean/sober for a considerable amount of time they often find that life is in fact just as exciting, if not more exciting, than it was before abstinence.
So we decided to create, and collaborate with a very select few rehab centers, detox centers and substance abuse education organizations to come up with the HipRehabs treatment network. Our goal is to give clients an option that is more of a new adventure on a new chapter to a new beginning. We have 11 locations up and down the west coast, primarily in California and Oregon and are planning on spreading toward Florida and other East coast states within the next few years. All our outpatient, inpatient, detox and sober living locations are luxurious, comfortable, fun and are typically covered up to 100% by private insurance.
